Towels that dry YOU and then GET dry: I wrote in a long time ago asking for source for Indian woven towels. My friend had some that were fantastic, but brought them from India and didn't know where to find them here. Unlike thick terry towels, the Indian ones don't stay wet and mildewy in a humid house... probably because in India they figured out how to handle humidity a long time ago. Anyway, Kara Weaves has them! They are not your typical American thing but they really work well.

Dear Sir or Madame, I would like to thank you for the lovely hand towels we purchased from your company.  In particular, we enjoyed the package we received them in.  When the hand sewn fabric package arrived the whole family gathered around it to wonder what we had received and where such an unusual package arrived from. We did not realize the towels would come from India and so were quite surprised.  Our daughter is studying India in school--so she took the package to school to show the class!  We are enjoying our new towels--and thank you for the lovely bonus large towel.

Dear Indu, Received the towels today!  They are BEAUTIFUL!  If you are able, tell everyone that makes them that they are beautiful and I love them.  I bought them to use as towels, but I think that they would be good as table napkins.  They are so soft and the colors are great!  Thank you, thank you, it was well worth the wait.

I received the package. The towels are beautiful. They are much thinner than the big old terry cloth towels I am used to, but they work wonderfully! I love them.
